Urban Decay Blender Brush Review

I was perusing the House of Fraser in Reading the other week and I came across an Urban Decay Counter. My local Boots stand is not manned and doesn't carry the brushes so I pounced on them to have a closer look. I already have the powder brush, which despite a sizeable price tag, is now in my kit above all others.

I bought the brush after mulling it over a bit. I also exchanged details with the sales assistant who was looking for a bridal make up artist for her upcoming wedding! At £14 it's a reasonable price to pay for a decent blending brush.

So far I haven't been disappointed. The brushed aluminium finish and serrated grip point make it a lovely brush to use. The taklon hairs are fine and soft but have a significant strength making them ideal for quick and precise blending. It also doesn't shed all over the place and the dyes used do not irritate my skin.

It is not what I would call a fluffy blending brush despite having long bristles. I don't know about you but I find fluffy brushes for blending a bit annoying. It must be my make up OCD kicking in again. Speaking of OCD, cleaning it is a dream, a quick shampoo and alcohol dip (or just alcohol if I am on a job) and it is dry and ready to use really quickly.

At 14cm long it is a bit shorter than some blending brushes but because it is heavier it is easier to wield!

Nice one Urban Decay, keep up the good work!

  2. I've never seen any UD brushes in the skin, I'm going to keep a look out for them as my current blending brush has become a bit too soft, it merges EVERYTHING together.
