Oooh very nice :) My favourite brush is MAC 227, it's so huge, soft and fluffy, great for applying brow/cheek highlight and for a big wash of colour over the eyelid. A tip for brushes is to spot clean them each time you use them which means you don't need to do a big proper shampoo job so often!
Please enter me in this comp. I am truly a brush virgin, I have no real idea how to use the different types of makeup brushes... but I really want to learn! The only brushes I use are a big fat brush for bronzer and a tapered brush for my blusher. I need help...!"!! nicolamcc82@gmail.com
I love E.L.F. brushes. They're cheap, but really good quality. My favorite is the studio powder brush. It's perfect for stippling on foundation and for applying powder. I also like the blender eye brush from the essentials line. It's great for blending shadow in the crease or applying E.L.F.'s HD powder under my eyes. :D
hello! :) i am aiming for a Sigma kit, but since I am poor at the moment, I only have two big fat brushes: a no-name one for powder/blush and an Avon one for eyeshadow. But they are super nice as they'e the softest stuff I've ever owned. And lots of sponge applicators. But I did hear goo stuff about the Coastal Scents brushes :P Would love to win! :X plohotnuke@yahoo.com
Lovely giveaway :) My favourite brush is the e.l.f. Studio Powder brush - it's brilliant for liquid foundation and also for applying and buffing cream blush. Also loving the professional NYX angled brush for filling in brows xx
When applying cream eyeliner (which, if it wasnt for ELF's Studio Cream Eyeliner I would never have been able to afford!), instead of using an angled brush or thin eyeliner brush, I use a short pointed flat brush. I think my one is meant to be a lip brush! All I can say is that it's so much easier than the other brushes which I have tried but failed miserably with! haha!! It works every time, goes on super smooth and enables me to create any shape, no matter how close to or far from the lash line!
I haven't been experimenting with brushes as much as I'd like to. The few proper brushes I've been using are a couple from E.L.F., from the basic line. I really like the Eyeshadow Brush, it picks up pigment pretty well and is quite dense. Other than that I use the Total Face Brush for my powders - picks powder very evenly!
Oh, and as for washing the brushes, I found something that people probably already have that turns out to be very handy. Something like this: http://www.ikea.com/PIAimages/0106889_PE256270_S4.JPG - Holds the brushes down really well!
Enter me please. I love my MAC 217! I think everyone should own one. I don't think you have to spend a lot of money on brushes. There are some good drug store brushes. I also love my ecotool brushes.
I only own a few ELF brushes and one or two other "no name" brand brushes but they work really good so i quite enjoy them. My tip for my brushes is that i clean them at least once a week with baby shampoo and warm water, nothing too fancy but i think it helps to give them a longer life if they are cleaned more often.
My all time favourite brush is my MAC 187 duo fibre for giving a lovely airbrushed, perfect finish. It is fantastic for powder, blush and liquid foundations so quite a versatile brush xx
My favorite brush has to be the elf kabuki face brush, I use it every day to apply my mineral foundation and I adore how soft and good quality it is! A good tip for brushes is to wash them once a week and dry them upside down so that the water doesn't go into the handle!
My tip for brushes is try not to wash your eyeshadow brushes too much, do it once per week or twice per month. Make sure ur eyes is nice and clean, if u do use wet makeup, then it is essential to wash ur brushes. I am loving my $1 elf shadow brush and blending brush. Cheap and cannot live without them.
My favourite brush is the ELF blending brush and a good tip is : after washing the brush make sure you wipe the extra water with a tissue so that when the brush is drying it won't smell :-)
hi jasmine my favourite brush is a fluffy eyeshadow brush because it has multiple uses i use it not only for eyeshadow but also for applying a setting powder to my undereyes and lids.... i use the ariane poole set at the minute and i love it but could do with a nice travel set. My top tip is keep your brushes clean!! theres nothing worse than seeing someone use dirty brushes!
My top brushes that I use on daily base are: CS Large foundation brush and ELF Studio powder brush for foundation, Abbamart long handle face brush for contouring, no name blush brush, and for eyes I use ELF defining brush and CS pink taklon eyeliner brush (which is HG eyeliner brush). I recently started buying different kinds of brushes, and I'm amazed how much difference does it make to apply makeup with a proper brush. It makes all the difference in the world. And I must say you make great videos, I learned so much from you, so I just wanted to let you know you are doing a great job. xoxo
my favorite brushes are the fluffy eyeshadow brushes. Bare escentuals makes one in almost every kit. I love them for the days I want to wear makeup but am too tired to REALLY wear make up
The first set of brushes I ever bought was Eco Tools. I still love them! I only have synthetic brushes because I believe they are easier to care for. My top tip would be to wash your foundation brush after every time you use it. It really makes a difference for someone with troubled acne skin.
Lovely giveaway! :) I loooove brushes. My favorite brush is the Elf Powder Brush, sooo nice and soft! My top brush tip is to buy some brush guards, they really help your brushes maintain their shape! ;)
My favourite brush is my duo-fiber stippling brush from e-bay, as it makes such a bit difference to applying foundation!
And my top tip is to try cheap brushes out and determine which ones you know you need before going out and investing a lot in ones from like MAC :) That way you may even find cheap brushes that you love! Saves you heartache! Hahaha.
My favourite brush is my Small Angled Brush from ELF because it's perfet for using the gel eyeliner! Thanks to it I finally had the best cat liner eye (Before I was totally clumsy with eyeliner!). Thanks for the opportunity Jasmine! xoxo
Enter me please! I don't own many brushes, just some e.l.f. ones and a set of no name but quite soft ones so I'd love to win these! My tip? I use antibacterial sensitive hand wash to clean them.
Suprisingly so, the cheapest one of my brushes, is also my favourite one. It's the elf blending brush, from the regular line. I just cant seem to complete a look without it, whether i use it for a smoky eye, for some crease work, or even for applying concealer.
my top tip is to wash my makeup brushes with shampoo and then cleanse with a little johnson and johnson eye make up remover to keep them nice and clean.
My favorite brushes recently are my EcoTools sets and the e.l.f. studio flat top powder brush for my mineral foundation. My favorite tip is to use a brush guard after I wash them, it keeps them in shape! x
Oh, lovely. Coastal Scents/Crown brushes are something I keep meaning to try. I like tapered brushes quite a lot. Whether it's tapered blender types or little pencil/smudge brushes.
One of my top tips is to use conditioner on brushes that are feeling a bit scratchy. Jane x
my favorite is the stippling brush for applying liquid foundation. i live in poland at the moment and they really have no idea about make-up (most have never heard of mac, sigma and even elf!) and finding a stippling brush was really hard here. i wanted it cos i saw encore do a comparison of brushes and it is my fav cos it gives the best finish. it is the most expensive thing in my make-up box :( cos i couldnt find it anywhere! i got it from sephora.
my faourite brush is ELF eyeshadow brush and i have two of them because i use one for eyeshadow and one for mineral concealer, it pick up the concealer so well, i just love that brush.
a brush tip would be to put on some moisteriser or lotion and leave it on for awhile and then wash of with water, then they so must softer...
hi im shabsmy favourite brush has to be the lip brush ui dont have any mac brushs as they are a bit dear in price but i do have a lip brush and it works wonders its quite wide from the bottom and narrows down to the tip and is perfect for appling your lipstick my top tip would be wet the brush just a little and just tap of excess and then apply your lipstick its give a percise line and makes your lips look clean and crisp enjoy my tip byexxxxxxxxxxx
i love bobbi brown brushes but i do not have any :) so far, i have tried drugstore brushes and elf :) and my favorite brush is elf's studio powder brush. thanks for the giveaway:)
My favorite brushes are: Elf studio powder brush, Elf "normal" eye brush, Yves Rocher pencilbrush, Essence blush brush. My tip would be: dont invest a lot of money in brushkits when starting out with make-up. Just buy a few good, cheap brushes and learn to use those.
Great giveaway :) I don't own many brushes and am currently adding to them. My favourite brush has to be Macs 168.I have had this brush for years and the quality is amazing. I also have a couple No7 brushes, which I love because they are great quality and the price is great aswell! My top tip would be to use coconut shampoo to wash your brushes in so that they have a soft subtle scent.
My favorite brushes are the E.L.F. brushes, along with Eco-Tools and Essence of Beauty from CVS. All are inexpensive, which is what I love, and awesome quality! I love the e.l.f. cleaner for spot cleaning, and an awesome tip is to hang brushes upside down after thoroughly wishing them - I put pony tail holders around the stem of the brushes, wrapping them around my towell rack so they can safely dry upside down!
my favorite brush is my sedona lace kabuki because it is the softest brush ive ever felt!!! and my tip is that after washing your brush put it at an angle so that the excess water will run away from the brush not soak into the wood!! your brushes will last longer and smell better
i find using a fluffy brush like mac's 224 for concealer (especially under eyes) works much better than the ordinary flat concealer brushes. it blends well and applies less product. then you can pack on more should you need it
It was not easy for me to buy any brushes of the E.L.F., they were much expensive on account of the taxes of import, but I liked a great deal of the blending brush and the eyeshadow brush. Other that I also liked very much, was the Duo Fiber of the site Brigitte's Boutique. It is perfect! Soft and pretty! When it is able, I'll buy one for one,to make my basic kit. Up to there .. who knows am I lucky and win this giveaway ? Good Lucky will be all!! Thanks will be this gift. kisses
i LOVE face brushes...particularly blush brushes, since that is the type of makeup i love most.
my advice? use baby shampoo to clean once a week. conditioner, if you'd like. and daily brush cleanser (i LOVE the elf one--soo cheap and effective) to help during the day.
My favorite brush is the Bare Escentuals flawless face brush. It applies my mineral foundation effortlessly. It's one of my essential brushes. One brush tip that I have is from a fellow youtuber. When you are packing on color with your shader brush if you flip the brush wear your only using the tip, it's great for blending.
I love Sonia Kashuk brushes from Target... they are the best quality and so affordable! The flat top is the best I've found for liquid foundation. I'm going to pick up her angled contour blush brush soon too.
I use an oil-based cleanser to was my brushes clean of all the makeup... but then I give them a final rinse with anti-bacterial hand soap to make sure they are totally clean :)
Hey:) I have a mini space nk makeup brush set I think they are fab! A tip I like to use is if you want to use eyeshadow as eyeliner then wet your eyeliner brush first and this gives a lovely effect :) I'd be very grateful to win :) x
For me having good quality brushes makes all the difference in the application of make up and I view them as investment tools. I like brushes that are multi functional like mac 138 great for sculpting/contouring also gives a flawless cream foundation application, mac 224 is best to blend under eye concealer and crease work and 217 for blending and applying eyeshadow. I also love a crown synthetic flat top kabuki(the softest brush ever) for applying both mineral and cream foundation. My tip for cleaning/conditioning brushes is to deep cleanse them once a week using equal amounts of antibacterial dishwashing liquid and extra virgin olive oil mixed together.
I like my elf sudio line powder brush. Inexpensive and does the job beautifully. My tip is, really, for moms out there-- if you need to help your child relax, grab one of your brushes--a powder or a blush brush. Make sure it's super soft. For a bedtime treat, I sweep the brush over the contours of my child's face and it instantly helps her relax and fall soundly asleep. Thanks! :)
my favourite brushes are the qvs ones from superdrug. because they are so inexpensive and good quality. i stipple on my foundation with the qvs duo fibre brush and then buff it in to get a airbrush finish. bansishah90@gmail.com
My favourite brush is the e.l.f. powder brush! I think those studio brushes are the best value for money! One of my cats love the elf complexion one!! She smells the brush and tries to bite the bristles :)
I would recommend everybody to store their brushes in a proper way, so that no bacteria or tons of dust get to them. Pouches are in my opinion the best. My favourite brush has to be my EcoTools blush brush! It's extremely soft, applies make up perfectly and it hasn't shed a single hair (I bought it probably 2 months ago)!
I've just ordered a set of Sigma brushes (eye set), but right now I'm only using brushes I got in a set from Boots (small with black handles, casing has a mirror in the back) ... isn't that shameful?! Talk about late developer ;-)
Honestly I don't have any good brush tips, because i'm still a beginner. But what I concluded from the many videos I've watched is there are some great drugstore brands for brushes (Ecotools, ELF, Studio Tools, etc etc). You don't have to spend a fortune on MAC brushes! and that stippling brushes are easier to use than traditional foundation brushes.
I like to was my brushes 1-2 weekly. I use the brushes guard and dry them standing instead of laying on it side. Just more prevention from getting wet and therefore increasing their longevity. I love my NARS No19 (it's the dearest I own and was so hesitant to purchase because of the cost) So glad I did now. So multi-functional.
my brush tip would be to keep them in a vase or other container instead of a drawer. When you keep them in a drawer the hairs can easily get damaged. My favourite brush is my e.l.f. studio kabuki. It is so soft and dense and I use it every day.
My favourite bush is the bent eyeliner brush from smashbox. I really struggled with cream eyeliners before i found this brush and it has been my saviour (i now have 3)
my favourites would have to be ELF brushes, I use the crease £1.5 brush everyday, and my MAC 214 gets neglected. Also studio angled brush is irreplaceable for gel liner. ANd let's not forget studio powder brush - amazing for liquid or powder foundations. Also to blend out contouring and apply blush, yes I have two :)
Wow, what a generous gift! Looks lovely:) I have tried loads of different kinds of brushes, and my favorites come from many different brands (eg Studio gear for blending brush, estee lauder for foundation) and price ranges. However, I have recently bought about 6 different brushes from elf, from their everyday and studio line, and I am extremely impressed. I've been using them ever since, and if I had to choose one brand as my favorite brush-provider, it would have to be elf! ps I absolutely love all of your videos, and I think you are a wonderful, warm person. Thanks for all your inspiration!
Hi Jasmine! I'm still searching for good brushes aside from MAC brushes. So far I've really enjoyed the ELF Kabuki Brush and my ecoTOOLS blush brush. I use them everyday and wouldn't tradethem for the world. My tip to clean your brushes is to use regular hair shampoo and let it dry upside down so the water can drain out completely. Thanks for the giveaway.
My favourite brushes are by MAC, however I only personally own the 217 for blending and the 210 which I use with my gel eyeliner daily. My other brushes are purchased from drugstores, and are of super bad quality, but due to finances I have been unable to purchase the all the makeup brushes of my dreams (I am currently a student).
My tips for my brushes are using the MAC brush cleaner after every use and keeping them stored in an upright position to prevent fraying and damage to the hair. Also, every so often my cheapy synthetic brushes loose their strands of hair while I am applying my makeup. Not a good look! My quick tip for these is to grab a pair of pliers and squeeze the join where the hair of the brush meets the metal that holds it all in place, for extra hold and security. While I would never recommend this for brushes of higher quality (and price!) it does work a charm on my cheap brushes, and tides me over until i can afford another set. However, I wouldn't have to do this again if I won your giveaway :) I hope to be considered.
I absolutely love makeup, and your videos are incredibly inspiring and educational.
First of all I want to say that I dont have brushes or just one brush thats why Im taking part of this giveaway . Please enter me as the winner . If I win I wouldl be so lucky it would be my first Brushes ever :)
The bag is SO pretty and the brushes look so nice! I want that;P My favorite brush is my kabuki brush, wich is so soft and lovely, that I just want to pat it like a pet:D My tip is to dry your brushes hanging upside down if possible, cos it'll keep the brushes in good condition longer. nanshine at hotmail dot com
My favorite brush is my fluffy crease brush (fro japonesque), my Ecotools eyeshadow brush, my lip brush from sephora (which I use on my lower lashline and inner eye since I have small eyes) and my angled liner brush from coastal scents. With those three I can make almost any look I want. :)
Hi OxfordJasmine! cute giveaway! My ultimate favorite brush is from a drugstore its a very high quality blending brush i must say..its **Essence of\Beauty** perfect for beginners like me trying to do our best in blending eyeshadows. it has very soft bristles so no matter how much u try and blend your colors it will feel smooth 2 your delicate skin! (thanks for the giveaway!)
I have only one brush--I am very new to using them, and I'm learning more about them all the time. The brush I do own is large with a round tip which I use for bronzer, so I can't say there's much for me to give advice on!
I have one brush by sonia kashuk that i use to apply blush and finishing powder. I am such a rookie with makeup brushes, but i know my makeup could look so much better with proper brushes to apply it with. Don't have much expertise with makeup, but that's why i subscribe to you uploads and follow your blog!
i have never had brand name brushes i have only had drugstore ones but what i do is wash em out wit baby shampoo and then once a week wash em with olive oil it leaves the softer and smoother and work good
my favourite brush would be the foundation and concealer brush ..cos i have been using bb cream for almost everyday and now thinking of switching to foundations and i thought it would be nice to finally get myself a brush set ..and i love it when i found these ! XD hope i win the giveaway ^^
hi! i belive we truly cant be without a good blending brush its the most important brush when applying makeup i like the drugstore CVS Essence of Beauty!thanks for the contest! cant wait to see who wins!!!!have a great Day:)im a Sub on ur Facebook.
There are actually two brushes that I can’t go without. They are: 1.) the Duel ended Studio 35 Beauty Angled Eyeliner & Shading Brush; Which I love because it really does give me bold noticeable eyes, and 2.) Studio 35 Beauty - Smoky Eyes Eye Blending & Smudging Brush ; I simply can’t do my makeup with out this brush. These brushes are a must have for me! I use these two brushes the most and the best part is they were inexpensive and are of very good quality. I bought them from Walgreens our local drug store. At first glance they looked like MAC or even Bare Escentuals brushes and in my opinion are comparable to MAC brushes as far as quality( Mac 224 & 226) only a quarter of the price. The best part is I got them on sale buy one get one! Basically I spent about $5.30 USD on one brush and got the second brush free so thats really Four brushes! This sale occurs often with all Studio 35 products at Walgreens. You can even order them online. These brush’s have never shed, don’t smell bad when cleaning them, and they are just as soft as the MAC brushes. My Brush tip: I use a very very small dab of Pond’s cold cream (rubbed between my finger tips and applied sparingly to the hairs on the brushes)to reshape my brushes after cleaning them. This also conditions your brush's and keeps them super soft :) (A tip I also use for my oil and acrylic painting brushes). Then I laythem down on a towel on the counter over night to dry (instead of leaving them upright)and return them to my brush holder (Which is nothing more then a clear short vase with bean bag filling/beads in it) I recently purchased Coastal Scents combo# 5. Which included Four 88 color Pallets; in warm satin pearls, metal mania, shimmer, and matte. I have to say that so far I am loving my coastal scents pallets and look forward to buying more of their products. Especially since it aids in supporting the village in Africa which provides us with the materials for coastal scents products. Speaking of, have any of you seen the baskets the women from the village make? simply beautiful. One of those baskets will be my next purchase with coastal scents.
Just a few weeks ago I saw this brush set on coastal scents web site and thought... I really love this kit... I like the carrying case also because I don't have any travel brushes that I can just pop in my purse and go. I was going to purchase them, but purchased combo#5 pallets instead.
hi ya my fav brush is the maxfactor minerals brush its made from natural fibres and is rly nice and thick so i can rly blend all my minerals in to my skin and it looks rly nice and smooth i think that a great tip for brushes is When dipping brushes into pressed powder products, like eye shadows, dont “mash” the brush into the pan. It breaks the fibers. It’s better for the brush and more effective to either swipe from side to side or run the brush around in a circle to gather powder. thanks for reading xo
hi again...my fav brush is a domb brush from cvs its made by essence of beauty! it helps blend eyeshadow on your eye crease very well and its super soft!!! thanks 4 the giveaway:)
It's too late for entering the giveaway but not too late to write about the perfect brush: my favorite is the small tapered eyeshadow brush from The Make-up Brush Company. Theres no other such brush like that sold, at least I have not seen. On the picture it's second from the top: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_6e9ozV07S_E/SbO6UCH8OII/AAAAAAAAA1M/Z2AuwaWcbjk/s1600-h/my+favorite+brushes.JPG
Hi LiisK, I have a few brushes from themakeupbrushcompany and I have to say they are wonderful and reasonably priced too! The large concealer brush is excellent.

I love finding craft store brushes that do the same job as my make-up ones and it saves me from cleaning my 'better' ones all the time.
ReplyDeleteSo I'd always apply cream with synthetic bristles cheapo flat brushes so I don't feel bad for being too rough on them with the cleaning.
My favorite brush is the flat top brush by Everyday Minerals, it's really soft and perfect for applying mineral makeup!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite brush is the elf powder brush, afoordable, high quality and soft. love it :D

ReplyDeletemy faourite brush is ELF eyeshadow brush and i have two of them because i use one for eyeshadow and one for mineral concealer, it pick up the concealer so well, i just love that brush.
a brush tip would be to put on some moisteriser or lotion and leave it on for awhile and then wash of with water, then they so must softer...
:0)

ReplyDeleteI don't own many brushes, but must haves for me are the flat top kabuki and the blending brush. They make application a lot easier
ReplyDeleteI have some old brushes I got at the Origins store
ReplyDeletei love bobbi brown brushes but i do not have any :) so far, i have tried drugstore brushes and elf :) and my favorite brush is elf's studio powder brush. thanks for the giveaway:)

My favorite brushes are: Elf studio powder brush, Elf "normal" eye brush, Yves Rocher pencilbrush, Essence blush brush.
ReplyDeleteMy tip would be: dont invest a lot of money in brushkits when starting out with make-up.
ReplyDeleteMy top tip would be to use coconut shampoo to wash your brushes in so that they have a soft subtle scent.
I love Mac 187, amazing <3 ^^

i love soft flat top brushes. it makes my foundation application so easy! :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite brushes are the E.L.F. brushes, along with Eco-Tools and Essence of Beauty from CVS.
ReplyDeletemy favorite brush is my sedona lace kabuki because it is the softest brush ive ever felt!!! and my tip is that after washing your brush put it at an angle so that the excess water will run away from the brush not soak into the wood!! your brushes will last longer and smell better
ReplyDeletei find using a fluffy brush like mac's 224 for concealer (especially under eyes) works much better than the ordinary flat concealer brushes. it blends well and applies less product. then you can pack on more should you need it
ReplyDeleteMy favorite brush is the Sigma F80, it's wonderful for blending my foundation!
ReplyDeleteHi!!
ReplyDeleteI have a few brushes only all supermarket except for my blush brush that I got from you !!! That's my favourite !!
Great competition I'd love to win !!!! fingers crossed
It was not easy for me to buy any brushes of the E.L.F., they were much expensive on account of the taxes of import, but I liked a great deal of the blending brush and the eyeshadow brush. Other that I also liked very much, was the Duo Fiber of the site Brigitte's Boutique.
ReplyDeleteIt is perfect!
ReplyDeletemy advice? use baby shampoo to clean once a week. conditioner, if you'd like. and daily brush cleanser (i LOVE the elf one--soo cheap and effective) to help during the day.
ReplyDeleteI use bare minerals brushes. Their concealer brush is great for applying eyeshadow! haha
ReplyDeletexoxo,
colormenana.blogspot.com
I love Sonia Kashuk brushes from Target... they are the best quality and so affordable! The flat top is the best I've found for liquid foundation. I'm going to pick up her angled contour blush brush soon too.
ReplyDeleteI use an oil-based cleanser to was my brushes clean of all the makeup... but then I give them a final rinse with anti-bacterial hand soap to make sure they are totally clean :)
Even the case is so glamorous!! Enter me please
ReplyDeleteI use brushes from a local brand that are alright coz i'm still just experimenting wid makeup
my favorite brush is blending brush from revlon because is soft and very very good blended
ReplyDeleteI love my Elf Studio brushes to pieces!
ReplyDeleteHey:) I have a mini space nk makeup brush set I think they are fab! A tip I like to use is if you want to use eyeshadow as eyeliner then wet your eyeliner brush first and this gives a lovely effect :) I'd be very grateful to win :) x
ReplyDeleteFor me having good quality brushes makes all the difference in the application of make up and I view them as investment tools.
ReplyDeleteMy tip for cleaning/conditioning brushes is to deep cleanse them once a week using equal amounts of antibacterial dishwashing liquid and extra virgin olive oil mixed together.
ReplyDeleteThanks! :)
Love, Josie (email is below)

my favourite brushes are the qvs ones from superdrug. because they are so inexpensive and good quality. i stipple on my foundation with the qvs duo fibre brush and then buff it in to get a airbrush finish.
ReplyDeletebansishah90@gmail.com
my favourite brush is the sigma SS217, because It has a lot of uses...blending, concealer, highlight...If you go out, the SS217 is all you need!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite brush is the e.l.f. powder brush! I think those studio brushes are the best value for money!
ReplyDeleteOne of my cats love the elf complexion one!! She smells the brush and tries to bite the bristles :)
I really like the elf professional brushes :) Cheap and good!
ReplyDeleteI like sephora brushes, they are affordable to me and it's easy to do make up with them.
ReplyDeleteI would recommend everybody to store their brushes in a proper way, so that no bacteria or tons of dust get to them. Pouches are in my opinion the best. My favourite brush has to be my EcoTools blush brush! It's extremely soft, applies make up perfectly and it hasn't shed a single hair (I bought it probably 2 months ago)!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win!
ReplyDeleteI love eyeliner brush together with powder brush...this set is so beautiful!! :)
I've just ordered a set of Sigma brushes (eye set), but right now I'm only using brushes I got in a set from Boots (small with black handles, casing has a mirror in the back) ... isn't that shameful?! Talk about late developer ;-)
ReplyDeleteHonestly I don't have any good brush tips, because i'm still a beginner. But what I concluded from the many videos I've watched is there are some great drugstore brands for brushes (Ecotools, ELF, Studio Tools, etc etc). You don't have to spend a fortune on MAC brushes! and that stippling brushes are easier to use than traditional foundation brushes.
ReplyDeleteI like to was my brushes 1-2 weekly. I use the brushes guard and dry them standing instead of laying on it side. Just more prevention from getting wet and therefore increasing their longevity. I love my NARS No19 (it's the dearest I own and was so hesitant to purchase because of the cost) So glad I did now. So multi-functional.
ReplyDeleteVery excited with the Kabuki on the stick brush. I'm currently loving my MAC 217 brush, I think i need to get another one as back-up!
ReplyDeletekatch05 at gmail dot com
my brush tip would be to keep them in a vase or other container instead of a drawer. When you keep them in a drawer the hairs can easily get damaged.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite brush is my e.l.f. studio kabuki. It is so soft and dense and I use it every day.
I need to learn the best way to clean brushes. :-/
ReplyDeleteE.L.F. blender brush is awesome! Its my favourite.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite bush is the bent eyeliner brush from smashbox.

ReplyDeleteUh.. I like Revlon Brushes, but I'm an absolute noob on the matter, so, yeah... no great help I guess, haha.
ReplyDeletelovely competition!
ReplyDeletei like the gosh-brushes, because they're very good quality for a reasonable price.
Wow, what a generous gift! Looks lovely:)
ReplyDeleteI have tried loads of different kinds of brushes, and my favorites come from many different brands (eg Studio gear for blending brush, estee lauder for foundation) and price ranges.
Hi Jasmine!
ReplyDeleteI'm still searching for good brushes aside from MAC brushes.

ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic giveaway!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite brushes are by MAC, however I only personally own the 217 for blending and the 210 which I use with my gel eyeliner daily.
Merry Christmas everyone!
Abby x

The bag is SO pretty and the brushes look so nice! I want that;P
ReplyDeleteMy favorite brush is my kabuki brush, wich is so soft and lovely, that I just want to pat it like a pet:D My tip is to dry your brushes hanging upside down if possible, cos it'll keep the brushes in good condition longer.

Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite brush is my fluffy crease brush (fro japonesque), my Ecotools eyeshadow brush, my lip brush from sephora (which I use on my lower lashline and inner eye since I have small eyes) and my angled liner brush from coastal scents. With those three I can make almost any look I want. :)

Hi OxfordJasmine!
ReplyDeletecute giveaway!
Ari
My fav brush is the kabuki brush.
ReplyDeleteI have only one brush--I am very new to using them, and I'm learning more about them all the time. The brush I do own is large with a round tip which I use for bronzer, so I can't say there's much for me to give advice on!
ReplyDeleteI have one brush by sonia kashuk that i use to apply blush and finishing powder. I am such a rookie with makeup brushes, but i know my makeup could look so much better with proper brushes to apply it with. Don't have much expertise with makeup, but that's why i subscribe to you uploads and follow your blog!
ReplyDeleteTip (lots of people probably already know this but ah well) : after washing your brushes, lie them flat on a kitchen towel to dry.
ReplyDeleteI love ecotools' retractable kabuki. omg it is so soft and REALLYY dense!!!
i have never had brand name brushes i have only had drugstore ones but what i do is wash em out wit baby shampoo and then once a week wash em with olive oil it leaves the softer and smoother and work good
ReplyDeletemy favourite brush would be the foundation and concealer brush ..cos i have been using bb cream for almost everyday and now thinking of switching to foundations and i thought it would be nice to finally get myself a brush set ..and i love it when i found these ! XD hope i win the giveaway ^^
ReplyDeleteenter me pls. fav brush, 217!!! from MAC
ReplyDeletehi! i belive we truly cant be without a good blending brush its the most important brush when applying makeup i like the drugstore CVS Essence of Beauty!thanks for the contest! cant wait to see who wins!!!!have a great Day:)im a Sub on ur Facebook.
ReplyDeleteThere are actually two brushes that I can’t go without.
ReplyDeleteMy Brush tip: I use a very very small dab of Pond’s cold cream (rubbed between my finger tips and applied sparingly to the hairs on the brushes)to reshape my brushes after cleaning them. This also conditions your brush's and keeps them super soft :) (A tip I also use for my oil and acrylic painting brushes). Then I laythem down on a towel on the counter over night to dry (instead of leaving them upright)and return them to my brush holder (Which is nothing more then a clear short vase with bean bag filling/beads in it)
I recently purchased Coastal Scents combo# 5.

ReplyDeleteI love the foundation ecotools brush!, cos for me its so soft :) i love it
ReplyDeletei really wanna try these brushes :) i love elf brushes but i wanna try something diffent :)
ReplyDeletehi ya my fav brush is the maxfactor minerals brush its made from natural fibres and is rly nice and thick so i can rly blend all my minerals in to my skin and it looks rly nice and smooth i think that a great tip for brushes is When dipping brushes into pressed powder products, like eye shadows, dont “mash” the brush into the pan. It breaks the fibers. It’s better for the brush and more effective to either swipe from side to side or run the brush around in a circle to gather powder. thanks for reading xo
ReplyDeletehi again...my fav brush is a domb brush from cvs its made by essence of beauty! it helps blend eyeshadow on your eye crease very well and its super soft!!! thanks 4 the giveaway:)
ReplyDeleteIt's too late for entering the giveaway but not too late to write about the perfect brush: my favorite is the small tapered eyeshadow brush from The Make-up Brush Company.
ReplyDeleteHi LiisK, I have a few brushes from themakeupbrushcompany and I have to say they are wonderful and reasonably priced too! The large concealer brush is excellent.
